Goals for January 2017

Goals for January 2017

Here we are. We made it. 2017. A year that, let’s be honest, couldn’t come soon enough. And with a New Year comes goals, resolutions, plans, and a whole lot of optimism.

Now, I’ve already shared with you my overarching goals for 2017 – both blogging and personal. But since I’m determined to make 2017 a totally fucking awesome year, I thought I’d go one step further and start setting myself monthly goals. Since my blogging goals are quite vague, and my personal goals are quite grand, I thought it would be nice to set myself some smaller, more measurable goals each and every month.

So, without further ado, here are my goals for January 2017!

1. Pack my lunch for work every day

This in theory should be an easy one, but in reality I’m very lazy. Packing my own lunch for work (as opposed to buying a glorious meal deal from Boots) is something I know I should do, but never seem to manage for more than a couple of days at a time. This month, however, I want to change that, and take a packed lunch to work every single day.

This is partly so I can eat a bit healthier, and partly so I can save some money (£3 minimum per day on lunch soon adds up!) Me and James got a lot of new cook books for Christmas, so hopefully I can find some recipes that are more inspiring than my usual left-over pasta bake and couscous salads.

2. Comment on more blogs

I mentioned in my blogging goals post that this year I want to meet some blogging pals IRL, and take part in more blogging Twitter chats. In a similar vein, one of my January goals is to comment on more blog posts. Receiving a comment on one of my posts absolutely makes my day, and I know other bloggers feel the same. So this month I’m going to aim to comment on at least one blog post a day. I tend to read several blogs every day, so really this shouldn’t be too hard!

3. Drink 1 litre of water every day

Last year, one of my resolutions was to drink more water. Or just any water, really. It might sound weird, but I don’t get thirsty, so remembering to drink water is bloody difficult.

I was doing pretty well for most of last year, drinking somewhere between 1 and 2 litres most days, but as the cold weather set in I found it harder and harder to force myself to stay hydrated. So in January I want to get back on track with my hydration and drink a litre a day (at least).

I think I’ll leave it with just 3 goals for this month. I already have my main goals for the year, plus some unofficial ones that I’m working on, so I don’t want to overwhelm myself!

Have you got any goals for January, or 2017 in general? Are you a fan of resolutions, or do you find them stressful and pointless? Let me know in the comments!

I’m definitely with you on the drinking more water front! I was so good at the start of last year but then got SO bad, and it really does make such a difference!

Totally with you on the blogging goals too, I can’t wait to meet more people IRL this year!

Absolutely loving your blog lately, you’re smashing it girl! Happy 2017 xxx

I just find it so hard to drink water when it’s cold! Gonna have to get creative with infusions and stuff I think haha! And yes, I feel like I’ve finally found my place in the blogging community online, now I want to extend that into my ‘real’ life too!

Thanks for the kind words (and comment!) Your blog is one of my most-read, so I can’t wait to see what you do in 2017! Happy New Year my doll! xx

Love these… some of them are things I want to do more of too. Although I do always take lunch to work with me, I make a wrap every morning lits takes two minutes!

Good luck with these and happy new year!

I admire your dedication to the packed lunch cause haha! I really struggle coming up with ideas of things to take that are actually tasty!

Happy New Year to you too! x

Commenting on more blogs is something I really need to do more of, and am really trying to do. Anyway, good luck with these goals 🙂

Thank you! Honestly, receiving blog comments is the NICEST thing so I just want to share that love a little. I read so many amazing blog posts that leaving a lil comment really shouldn’t be that hard!

Gaaaah I bloody love a Boots meal deal. But, like you, I need to be better at packed lunches so I’m joining you on that one! Good luck with your January goals, lovely, and Happy New Year! 🙂

Honestly they are LIFE, but I really need to stop spending my money on food when I have a house full of stuff! Day 1 of bringing my lunch to work is complete. We’ll see how the rest of the month goes…

Thank you my dear, and Happy New Year too! x

Yeah I think commenting on blogs is such a nice way to spread a little love! Plus it’s a great way to meet and connect with new people.

Good luck on your goals – especially the drinking water one! I know how hard that one is! x

Drinking more water will change your life! It was my 2016 goal and my skin is thanking me.

I agree on commenting, I comment on every single blog I visit. It’s the least I can do in return of the time people take to write an article x

I know man! I was doing SO well with water drinking throughout 2016 until like September, then I just stopped and my skin can definitely tell the difference!

That’s so nice that you take the effort to do that! I’m really enjoying commenting on more blogs lately. I find it makes me think about the post I’m reading in a bit more detail, rather than just reading it and closing it.
