February Goals

February Goals

Well, that’s it folks. We’ve successfully survived the first month of 2017. And, more importantly, we’ve successfully survived the first few weeks of Trump’s Presidency. By which I mean we’ve all sat around and watched him start systematically dismantling democracy and violate human rights.

But I digress. February is here, and I’ve gotta say, I’m excited. February is gonna be a Good Month. Mainly because James and I are going to Berlin on the 13th for a few days. Also cos it’s my birthday that same week. Fun times ahead.

Since y’all loved my January Goals post last month, and since I am apparently obsessed with setting goals for myself, I thought I’d set some February Goals as well. So, without further ado, here are some things I wanna achieve this month.

Get out of the office

I don’t mean for like, hours at a time. Somehow I don’t think my boss would like that. But I really do need to get up from my desk a bit more. When the weather’s nice, I tend to use my lunch hour to go for a walk, but when it’s cold and miserable, I just sit at my desk for literally the whole day. Which isn’t good for anything.

So one of my February goals is to go out for at least half an hour at lunchtime. Even if I just walk into town and back, at least I’ll get moving a bit more. My arse will surely thank me.

Look after my skin

I’m quite lucky in that I’ve always had relatively good skin. I never suffered from acne as a teenager, and my skin is neither excessively oily nor excessively dry. But I’m well aware that if I don’t look after my skin properly, it’ll rebel against me soon.

Although I love the ritual of skincare, I’m sporadic at it best. So this month I want to really commit to looking after my skin. That means washing it properly every morning (not just throwing a few drops of water at it), and properly taking my makeup off at night. No excuses.

Read new blogs

Last month I made it my goal to comment on at least one blog a day, and I freaking loved it. So I wanted to set another blogging goal for this month as well. And that is to read new blogs more often.

I want to make it my mission to find at least one new blogger to follow each week. Currently I have a fair few blogs that I read regularly, but I’d love to find some new bloggers. Particularly bloggers who write about similar topics to me.

That’s it! Those are my three February goals! Let me know in the comments if you have any goals or plans for this month. I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned for Feb!

I really need to start getting out of the office more too – I went to the physio last week for my posture, and she literally nearly shouted at me when I said I sit at my desk all day lol. I’ve started – getting up for a small walk around the office every hour, but the minging weather just puts me off going outside 🙁

Yeah it’s so hard to get out when the weather is rubbish! But I always feel so much better when I do!

I’m the same, i love getting out of the office at lunch, if the weather is rubbish i try and find a quiet space to read!
I commented on a lot of people’s posts last month and it felt so good reading and appreciating others work! So I’m with you on that one!
    Great post! X

Yeah at my old job I used to go out to a cafe at lunch time to read, but I’ve not found a go-to ‘spot’ where I work now!

And yes, commenting on other people’s posts was so much fun. I definitely need to keep doing it even though it’s not a goal!

Thanks – and thanks for the comment!

Yeah honestly skincare has got to be one of the most important ways to look after yourself! It’s something I love doing, but I don’t always make time for. Yeah I’m really enjoying having monthly goals in addition to my big 2017 goals. It helps me keep focused and have a direction, which really helps my mental health!

I can’t not get out of my office at lunch, I’d go mad otherwise, and I actually like my job! Totally with you on finding new bloggers too, let me know when you find some good’uns!

Honestly I SO notice the difference in my mental health on days where I get out of the office vs. days where I don’t. But for some reason I find it so hard when it’s cold out!

I love reading other people’s goals – I’m obsessed with it! It gives me so much motivation to focus on my own. Loved the “getting out of the office” goal – inspired me to go get a coffee this afternoon.
